“Couldn't have asked for more from the boys these past four days look we didn't get the right side of the result but we pushed the side all the way.”
Tom Haines reflects in a post match interview on the result of their opening game and indeed his feelings after his debut as Sussex red ball captain.
Sturn Middlesex Side Will Be A Tough Nut To Crack
Mark Stoneman made his home debut and Toby Roland-Jones returned from injury for his first red ball match of this year as Tim Murtagh's side raced to and enfatic victory in lords against Derbyshire. The side were pratically ontop from an 58 run 10 wicket partnership onwards and a couple of wickets overnight followed by a wicket with the first ball of day four courtesy of Tim Murtagh put the side in an uncatchable position as they went on to win by 112 runs.
So after dissapointing group stages these two sides match up today at Hove with much to prove, with only 17 points seperating the two sides currently in the Bob Willis trophy it really is all to play for. You can catch it on youtube live stream from 10:30 am everday from September 6 to 9.
