All of the highs, lows and a complete round up of day 4 action across the Bob Willis Trophy.

Starting up in the North and division two where in Chester le Street home side Durham welcomed Glamorgan. It was truly a one sides afair from the get go as the hosts bowled out Glamorgan for just 97, following a big first total and huge second innings lead and acculmanating on day 4 their bowlers proved to much for a battered Glamorgan batting lineup as they wer bowled out for 364 falling a innings and 42 runs short of their target. Continuing along the division two trend Gloucstershire travelled to Chelmsford to face a stern Essex side, it was a tough affair for the visitors as they were bowled out for 76 in the first innings,Essex struggled to 276 all out, but on an ever increasingly difficult day 3 and soon day 4 pitch the hosts bowling attack proved to much for Gloucstershire who were bowled out for 197 and slumped to an innings and 3 runs loss. Over to Surrey vs Northamptonshire and hosts Northamptonshire resumed play on day four needing 179 runs to win with nine wickets in hand. Facing some defiant bowling Emilio Gay dug deep to score 50 but it was Adam Rossington and Saif Zaib's partnership which steered the side to a three wicket victory.
So, how does that leave the standings? Well, unbeaten Essex lead at the top followed by Northamptonshire, Surrey and Gloucestershire squabble for the middle spots followed by Glamorgan and then Durham.
On to division One;
The first match to begin in division one on day 4 was Hampshire vs Warakshire. Following the embarrising 20 wickets on day one the pitch flattened out and the batsmen calmed down leading to a bubbling climax on day four. The equation was simple, the hosts Warakshire needed 235 to win, the visitors needed to bowl them out. And bowl them out they did, Mohammed Abbas was utterly ruthless as he tore apart the Warakshire top order and despite a defiant middle order rally the hosts ended up getting bowled out for 235, 60 runs short of their target. With one of the games finished already before day 4 it was just the small matter of finishing up a cracking game at Trent Bridge which saw the Notts take on Lancashire, Lancashire needing over 300 to win, Notts needing 9 wickets. Notts were on it from the start as Luke Fletcher rallied the bowling unit along to a commanding position however late order defiance in the shape of a 108 9 wicket partnership threatened to ruin the hosts day but two late on crucial wickets sealed the deal and placed Notts top of the pile in division one.
So, after all that carnage here is how the top of division one looks after this weeks round of matches;
Notts on top, followed closely by Hampshire. Warakshire and Yorkshire fight it out in the middle sports with Lancashire keeping their distance with back runners Somerset.

The heroics of Sam Robson's first innings double ton raises eyebrows for England Selection.
In division three, reeling from the first innings total of 676 Sussex failed to ever get going and despite the best efforts of captain Tom Haines scorer of 156 and 88 they slipped to 309 all out in their second innings and lost by an ininnings and 48 runs. Over in Canterbury, hosts Kent dazzled in complete performance vs Wocestershire as they stormed to an innings and 56 run victory. Having bowled out the visitors for 133 and scored 393, day 4 just required the small matter of bowling Wocestershire out in order to claim full points. They did so with ease, managing to bowl them out quickly for 204 and win by an innings and 56 runs. Finally, after a mammouth total of 528 in the first innings and having bowled Derbyshire out for 340 Leciestershire needed to bowl Derbyshire out to win. However Derbyshire's batters held firm and held out to a well survived draw.
So finally this leaves our group three table looking a bit like this,
Middlesex top after big victory in Hove, linked closely by Kent, it is Wocestershire and Liectershire who take the middle spots with Kent hanging over Sussex wo are in last place.
In conclusion, after a week of inthrawling matches, day 4 lived firmly up to the quality and expectation of its pre decesors and produced not only some great games and great results. The division tables have been shuffled and momentum swung. So, be sure to get down and support your club in anyway possible next week as the forecast has it that more great matches are to come!
